Still Packing

This is the 24 hour countdown to departure for Africa! Even being this close, I cannot really grasp that I am about to be gone for three months. I am very excited (as long as I think past the plane ride) but I can't say the same for my dog Cannoli-I don't think he believes me when I tell him I'm coming back :).

I have had a running list of things to check off for the past month and a half, and as I glance back through it for the hundredth time, there are only one or two more things to get done before we hit the skies! The only problem is my carry-on bag. With the high risk of misplaced luggage comes the nervous feeling that everything "important" should go in that bag. So I am sitting here looking at everything that needs to go in my carry-on but just won't fit. I have carefully removed everything from the bags on my floor to neat piled on my bed, but all I have done thus far is stare at them with the realization that everything will not fit! I will probably continue to stare for a while longer, before sacrificing a change of clothing for my convertor and battery chargers. If my luggage is lost I may be bumming clothes from the students, but rest assured that I will have my camera and camcorder to at least document this process!

As our group of 24 students and some-odd "faculty" (which I put in quotations since it supposedly describes myself) begin our adventures tomorrow, please keep us in mind and prayer. God is about to do amazing things to us and through us!

  1. Reading Mr. Daggett's tweets with much thankfulness that you are there safely! Sooo envious that you got to see Victoria Falls today. Loved hearing about the welcome you all received when you arrived at the mission! Praying for the entire group often. Can't wait to see a post from you soon!

  2. P. S. Cannoli says to tell you "hi" and that he is doing fine! He just came and asked to get in my lap so that he could see what I was typing to you!
